There is very little information on Sacchi available on the internet
Sacchi was one of the few Japanese orcas to be taken into captivity. Sacchi was caught in Taiji, alongside 5 other orcas in 1982 and all of them were quickly transferred to the Taiji Whaling Museum. Sacchi was about 11, and had a massive belly and was quickly moved from the Whaling Museum to the Enoshima Aquarium. Two months after arriving, she gave birth to the first ever captive born orca in Japan. The male calf quickly swam to the surface and appeared to be very strong, but died suddenly after 10 days. Sacchi was left alone for the rest of her captive life. It is unknown whether she had scheduled show, but judging by the second picture of her I posted, she did do some basic behaviors. Whether these were part of an actual show or not is unknown. Sacchi seemed to be doing well in captivity, despite her older age and seemed to adjust, but she only survived for two years in captivity.
Sacchi died in 1984, after just over 2 years in captivity. Captivity was probably especially stressful for her, as she spent most of her life in the Ocean, and was pregnant at the time of her capture. Sacchi was only about 13 or 14 at the time of her death and had spent the last two years of her life all alone. Captivity kills.
